AAP accuses BJP of corruption, demands minister Joshi’s dismissal

PIONEER NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun

After remaining quiet for some time following its rout in Delhi election, the Aam Aadmi Party has fired a fresh salvo against the BJP-led State government, alleging that the government from top down is mired in corruption.  While addressing a media conference here on Saturday, the party’s national spokesperson and Uttarakhand co-in-charge, Ghanendra Bhardwaj said that corruption has eaten its way deep into every level of governance. “It has permeated all levels of governance in Uttarakhand. From officials to ministers, everyone is tainted with corruption.   Even the district magistrate-level officers are found involved in the Haridwar land scam. Yet, the government has not taken appropriate action,” he said.

He also alleged that the Cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi has amassed unaccounted assets. Referring to the Sainya Dham scam, he said that the High Court has sought a response from the minister.

Labelling the State government as more an event manager than one addressing people’s concerns, the AAP leader said that a revamped AAP would launch a people’s movement against the graft-tainted government soon.

He further said that he had been meeting leaders and workers of the party from both Garhwal and Kumaon regions. “The party’s State unit will be restructured. The current organisational structure will be dissolved and a new one will replace it,” he said, adding that his party would contest all the elections in the State from now on up to the 2027 Assembly election.

Among other leaders present at the press conference were Vishal Chaudhary, Himanshu Pundir and Ravinder Singh Anand.
