In latest news from Uttarakhand, Nainital Dugdh Utpadak Sahkari Sangh Limited (NDUSSL), Lalkuan has hiked the price of Aanchal milk by Rs 2 per litre from May 4 following in the footsteps of Amul and Mother Dairy which had raised the price recently.

Under the increased prices, standard Aanchal milk of Rs 66 will now be available to customers for Rs 68 while a half litre milk packet of Rs 29 will now be available for Rs 30. Apart from this, the price of cow milk has also been increased by Rs 2 per litre. Besides, the price of ghee has been increased by Rs 2 per litre, khoya by Rs10 and butter by Rs 20.

Speaking of the hike, the president, NDUSSL, Mukesh Bora said that they had to go for the hike in the wake of similar hikes effected by Mother Dairy and Amul in the markets. He also informed that a new milk plant is being set up at Lalkuan with ultra-modern new technology. “The plant’s capacity will be to package over 1.5 lakh litres of milk daily,” he added.

He further said that keeping in view the economic interests of the milk producers, many big decisions would be taken soon under the guidance of the State Milk Development minister Saurabh Bahuguna.
