The inauguration of the new Tuticorin Airport terminal on July 26 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a defining milestone in the evolution of South Tamil Nadu’s infrastructure and economic resurgence. One extends deep gratitude to PM Modi for dedicating this transformative project to the nation. His unwavering commitment to building world-class infrastructure in emerging coastal regions like Tuticorin is not only inspiring but deeply aligned with our own journey and long-standing vision for the region.
Tuticorin: India’s coastal city on the rise
Tuticorin is rapidly emerging as one of South India’s most dynamic coastal growth engines, powered by multimodal infrastructure, blue economy leadership and national-level investments. Key developments positioning Tuticorin as a global hub include:
New International Airport terminal – night landing, wide-body aircraft capacity, 1,400 passengers/hour
VOC Port Expansion (₹7,056 Cr) – shaping up as a transshipment and green energy hub
India’s second spaceport (ISRO, 1,200 acres) – at Kulasekarapattinam
VinFast EV Manufacturing Plant – marking the city’s rise in global electric mobility
Smart City and Export Excellence Zone – with integrated road-rail-sea-air connectivity
Green Hydrogen, Offshore Wind Energy and TIDEL Neo Parks – boosting sustainable industry
Power surplus district with total operational installed capacity of 4,175 MW
Tuticorin is now drawing global comparisons with coastal success stories like Dubai and Singapore, offering unmatched potential for logistics, tourism, energy, technology and exports.
While the world is waking up to Tuticorin’s potential now, Kings Infra Ventures Limited believed in this city back in 1987 — launching our aquaculture journey from here. For nearly four decades, we have grown alongside Tuticorin, and our story is deeply tied to its soil and sea. Our enterprise has played a pioneering role in developing scientific aquaculture practices from Tuticorin, and over the years, has trained and mentored a large community of aquafarmers across the country, helping build a sustainable and skilled aquaculture ecosystem.
Today, we operate:
• Over 200 acres of aquaculture farms in and around Tuticorin
• A fully equipped R&D and technology development center
• Processing plant, cold storage and export hub
Prime coastal assets & the maritech ecopark vision
In addition to its established aquaculture operations and export infrastructure, Kings Infra holds a prime beachfront property in Tuticorin, with over one kilometre of private beach with development potential exceeding five million square feet. This strategically located coastal landbank is ideally suited for:
• Eco-hospitality and beachfront tourism
• Water sports and marine recreation zones
• ESG-aligned coastal infrastructure
• High-end residential developments
• A visionary blue economy innovation cluster under the upcoming Maritech Ecopark — a pioneering hub for marine R&D, aquaculture innovation and sustainable coastal development
With enhanced multimodal connectivity, increasing investor interest, and national emphasis on port-based growth, this prime asset is positioned for strong strategic value appreciation.
It forms a vital pillar in our asset monetisation strategy, enabling value unlocking through responsible, future-focused development and global partnerships.
The terminal: Tuticorin’s global gateway
The new terminal will:
• Support wide-body aircraft and international flights
• Enable air cargo growth alongside VOC Port
• Facilitate tourism, business, and diaspora travel
• Drive regional industrialization and ESG projects
This investment directly accelerates our vision for integrated aquaculture, blue economy innovation and global seafood trade — all headquartered from here.
Tuticorin: Our home, our mission & future
For us, Tuticorin is more than a location — it is the origin of our purpose and the anchor of our future. We are committed to leading the new blue economy revolution — from Tuticorin, to the rest of the country, and to the world. With deep roots in this region and a forward-looking approach, we believe the best of Tuticorin — and Kings Infra — is yet to come.
