Doon police arrested the accused of raping a minor girl within 24 hours of the complaint being lodged. As per police, the
accused was a music teacher who used to teach music to the survivor.
Police swung into action after the girl’s father lodged a complaint at Premnagar police station, stating that her daughter had been sexually assaulted by her music teacher. On the basis of the complaint received, a case was immediately registered at the Premnagar police station under Section 64 BNS and 3 (g) / 4 of the POCSO Act.
In view of the seriousness of the case, the SSP, Dehradun directed the Premnagar police station in-charge to arrest the accused in no time. A police team was constituted. It collected details about the accused and within 24 hours, the accused- identified as Vishwas Dutt Sharma (42)- was arrested from Premnagar.
