Covid-19- Doon administration issues fresh SoP

On the orders of the state government the administration has started taking measures to prevent the spread of the Covid-19. The district administration of Dehradun has issued a new set of SoPs for the disease. In the SoP the administration has set up a cap of 100 people in any programme or event. It includes the New Year parties also. The hotels would allow only those guests who had done an advance booking for the programme.

The district magistrate of Dehradun R Rajesh Kumar said that the World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the new Omicron variant as Variant of Concern (VoC). It is highly contagious and the government of India has issued guidelines to prevent the spread of this variant in the population. He said that the people visiting the district from other states should have to present a negative report not older than 72 hours before entering the district or should produce proof that they have received both doses of vaccine. As per the SoP the wearing of masks and maintaining social distancing in public places has been made mandatory.
