Four more dengue cases reported in the city

Four new cases of dengue were reported in the Dehradun district on Friday. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma informed that four individuals tested positive on Friday, with three of them being admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and one to Graphic Era Hospital. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases (ELISA-positive) in the district to 84, which includes 49 cases reported in Dehradun and 35 cases from other districts or States.

Dr Sharma further informed that there are currently 10 active patients, with seven hospitalised at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, two at Graphic Era Hospital and one at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC). On Friday alone, 124 dengue samples were collected, raising the cumulative total to 5,983 samples collected so far.

Additionally, on Friday, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and health department volunteers conducted 1,0367 house surveys to check for mosquito larvae. Among these, 68 houses tested positive for larvae. The health department has completed a total of 6,13505 house surveys, with 1,878 showing positive results. Similarly, on Friday, ASHA workers and volunteers inspected 8,7705 containers, of which 81 were found to contain larvae. To date, they have surveyed 38,48577 containers, resulting in 2,332 testing positive.
