Payal expressed her concerns about the effects of global warming and climate change which have been exacerbated by increased deforestation particularly in Dehradun. Sonia Sanjay Kumar said that the rising population and deforestation have contributed to climate change and global warming. Temperatures exceeded 40 degrees Celsius in Doon, due to factors like deforestation. She called for sustainable development practices in society and emphasised the need for authorities to implement policies that involve monitoring trees and advancing environmental conservation.
“Many of us have noticed major climate change. However, we cannot solely blame the government for tree cutting; citizens must also take responsibility. Instead of merely assigning blame, we should contribute to creating a greener Dehradun and other districts as well,” said another young adult, Madhur Mathur.
