Vatsalya Ganga Ashray inaugurated in Haridwar

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Vatsalya Ganga Ashray here on Sunday in the presence of Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta and the founder of the facility for girls lacking support, Sadhvi Ritambhara.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhami appreciated the initiatives undertaken by the Sadhvi. He said that the work of providing a new life to destitute girls under Sadhvi Ritambhara’s leadership is a divine work which is a strong symbol of hope, mercy and revival in society. The lives of many young girls have taken a positive direction due to her commitment, which is a really inspirational example of social service, he said.

Dhami said that various development works are underway in Uttarakhand under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance. The implementation of the Uniform Civil Code is prominent among these works. “The manner in which the Ganga originates in Uttarakhand and flows giving water and life across the country, the stream of the Uniform Civil Code has emerged from here and in the coming times, it will benefit the whole nation. A great festival of religious revival is taking place in Bharat under PM Modi’s leadership,” the CM said. He also talked about work underway on the Haridwar-Rishikesh Ganga corridor and the Sharda corridor. Dhami said that about 18 lakh people had undertaken the Char Dham Yatra so far this year, adding that the pilgrimage is being facilitated properly.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta appreciated the work done by the Dhami government in Uttarakhand, adding that it is inspirational for Delhi. She said that the good schemes introduced by the Uttarakhand government will also be taken up in Delhi. She also reiterated her commitment to cleaning the Yamuna river.

Sadhvi Ritambhara, Paramanand Giri, Acharya Balkrishna and other members of the religious fraternity were also present on the occasion.
