The Dehradun regional transport office will felicitate the top two bidders from the recently concluded online auction of fancy vehicle numbers. The individual who placed the highest bid of Rs 13.77 lakh for the number UK07HC0001 and the bidder who secured UK07HC0009 for Rs 3.95 lakh will be honoured at the RTO office on Tuesday, the Dehradun regional transport officer (Administration) Sandeep Saini said. He claimed that the bid of Rs 13.77 lakh for the number UK07HC0001 is the highest in the State so far. He stated that the online auction witnessed active participation on Sunday and generated significant revenue for the government. A total of 98 applicants had registered for the non-transport category auction, with many placing competitive bids on popular number combinations. Saini stated that the funds deposited by the bidders into the State’s revenue account contribute to the larger goal of public welfare and development. He said that this auction not only increased revenue but also encouraged public interest in securing fancy numbers, creating a more favourable environment for future auctions. The RTO plans to continue holding such online auctions to maintain transparency and convenience in the allocation of personalised number plates to vehicle owners, he added.
