Special registration camps will be held to raise awareness and facilitate action under the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the Dehradun municipal area from May 21 to June 9. These camps aim to facilitate mandatory registrations under various categories on the UCC portal, as directed by the Uttarakhand government, the Dehradun district magistrate Savin Basnal said. He informed that special camps will be organised in all municipal wards of Dehradun to ensure compliance with the UCC portal requirements. The Dehradun chief municipal health officer Dr Avinash Khann has been appointed as the nodal officer for the initiative. Bansal said that designated ward supervisors will coordinate with Common Service Centres (CSC) to identify suitable locations for the camps. They will ensure all necessary arrangements are made on the scheduled dates. Prior to the camps, relevant documents required for registration will be widely publicised within each ward, he said. The officials concerned will contact public representatives to appeal to them to spread information about the camp dates and venues at their level. The DM instructed the officials that following the camps, daily registration progress reports must be submitted in the prescribed format to the chief development officer’s office at the Jal Jeevan Mission cell via the email ID [email protected] by 5 PM each day. He instructed all officials to carry out the assigned tasks in accordance with the issued guidelines to ensure maximum registrations under the UCC portal in the Dehradun municipal area.
