Under an agreement signed between Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Tehri district fisheries department, 1.20 quintal of trout fish was supplied to ITBP Seema Dwar, Dehradun. As per the agreement, ITBP is to purchase fish, chicken and mutton for its jawans from the locals. The district fishery department sources said that the trout fish had been collected from the village Hatwal through Song Valley Matsya Jeevi Sahakari Samiti operating in development block Jaunpur. They further said that as directed by the chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, the district administration has been striving to connect the local people with self-employment schemes.
Notably, trout fish, rich in nutrients, brings good profit in markets.
