Amid the searing heat, the Char Dham pilgrims on their way back are enjoying river rafting in Ganga at Shivpuri, Bayasi and Kodiyala rafting sites. Locals said that aside from the pilgrims, tourists from other states are coming here in large numbers to enjoy the same. They are also making bookings at the river rafting centres operating at various places along the Badrinath Highway and for night camping on the banks of the Ganga. The river rafting operators and local businessmen said that the upswing in tourist footfalls has been boosting their income.
The secretary of Ganga Nadi Rafting Committee, Jaspal Chauhan said that 3000 to 3500 people are enjoying rafting daily.
