The State Tourism, Religious Affairs and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj conveyed his best wishes to the people on the opening of the Gangotri Dham and Yamunotri Dham portals which marked the commencement of Char Dham Yatra 2025.
He said that the tremendous enthusiasm among the devotees regarding the annual pilgrimage could be gauged from the huge number of bookings done with Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam-owned guest houses. From February1 till now, over seven crore people from across the country had done online and offline bookings, he said, adding that this time the facility of registration through Aadhar number has also been provided for the Char Dham pilgrims.
He further said that 18 drones have been set up which would keep an eye on security and traffic during the Yatra. “Apart from this, monitoring is being done through 2000 CCTV cameras,” the minister said.
