In latest news from Nainital, the Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat conducted an unannounced inspection of the Sales Tax office in Kathgodam. It was found during his visit that the biometric machine had not been updated and names of the retired and transferred employees were still there in the machine. Not just this; names of the new employees have not been entered. Rawat said he had been conducting surprise inspections of the government offices on the directive of the chief minister. The CM is serious on the attendance of the government employees as the government works, meant for the common people, are done through them, he said. He stressed on the employees reaching office on time and working responsibly. He had checked the leave applications of the employees who were found absent during the visit. This aside, Rawat inspected the Ambedkar Park in Haldwani and interacted with those who had come to the open gym of the park for exercises. He directed the officers concerned to ensure that the park is cleaned properly. He also asked them to facilitate drinking water for those coming to the gym for exercises.
