AIIMS drone medical service to be launched in Haridwar, Roorkee & Narendra Nagar soon

In latest news from Uttarakhand, in good news for the people in Haridwar, Narendra Nagar and Roorkee, the AIIMS Rishikesh is all set to launch its drone medical service in these three towns. The AIIMS Rishikesh sources said that medicines and blood components are being sent to the inaccessible mountainous parts of the State through drone medical service since February and preparations have been completed as far as the launch of the same service in Haridwar, Narendra Nagar and Roorkee is concerned.  Notably, AIIMS Rishikesh had had several trial runs conducted in the hill areas prior to its official launch. Importantly, this is the first of its kind medical service launched by AIIMS in the country.  

While the service will be conducted in Haridwar in association with Ramkrishna Mission, it will be conducted in Roorkee with the assistance of the sub-district hospital and the community health centre has been roped in for this service in Narendra Nagar.   

The AIIMS administration officials said that the route plan being drawn up, the service is all set to be launched in the three towns by the end of March, adding that the service would be extended to other areas of the State as well with the route plan being drawn up.
