Cong raises question on restricted entry into secretariat

Secretariat kept out of bounds for media & public while schools, colleges are being forcibly opened: PCC president

Taking a dig at the BJP government of Uttarakhand on deciding to open the colleges and universities while keeping the state secretariat out of bounds for media persons and general public, the Uttarakhand Congress has questioned the intentions of the state government.

Addressing the media persons at Rajiv Bhawan here on Wednesday the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh said that the government has opened schools and colleges but has kept the state secretariat closed for general public and media persons. He said that the parents of the students are still hesitant to send their wards to the schools and colleges.

Launching an attack on the state government on the issue, the member of All India Congress Committee (AICC), Garima Dasauni said that the government has deliberately kept the state secretariat out of bounds for the media and public for the last three months as it wants to hide something. She said that when everything is being unlocked, the idea of keeping the secretariat closed raises questions. Dasauni claimed that while the media and general public are not allowed in secretariat, the BJP workers and power brokers are having an unrestricted movement there.  She said that keeping the centre of power closed for such a long time underlines the autocratic nature of the Trivendra Singh Rawat government.
