7 die as chopper carrying pilgrims from Kedarnath crashes

In the latest news of Uttarakhand a heart-wrenching incident has emerged, where a helicopter en route to Kedarnath has crashed between Gaurikund and Triyuginarayan area of Rudraprayag. Seven are reported dead in this. This helicopter belonged to a private company. It is being told that the helicopter was returning with passengers from Kedarnath. After receiving information about the incident, NDRF and SDRF teams have left for the spot.
The helicopter took off from Guptkashi for Kedarnath at 5:15 am. After dropping the passengers at Kedarnath Dham, it was returning with other passengers from there. The pilot is also reported to have died in this accident.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said rescue teams have been deployed for relief and rescue operations. “Very sad news has been received about a helicopter crash in Rudraprayag district. SDRF, local administration and other rescue teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations. I pray to Baba Kedar for the safety of all the travellers,” CM posted on X.
In this travel season this is the third incident in . Earlier, emergency landing had to be done twice. Two accidents have also happened in Badrinath and Gangotri this season.
