The tally reaches 2791, recovery rate increasing steadily
Even as the Government is going ahead on easing most of the restrictions, the contagion of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) is continuing its upward trend in Uttarakhand. On Saturday, the state health department reported 66 new patients of the disease which increased the tally of the disease to 2,791 in the State. However, on a positive note, 90 patients were discharged from different hospitals of the State on Saturday which further increased the recovery percentage of Covid-19 in Uttarakhand. A total of 1912 patients of Covid-19 have so far recovered from the disease.
The health department reported 29 new patients of the disease on Saturday from Nainital district, 26 of whom had recently traveled from Mumbai to the state while three have a travel history from Delhi. The authorities also reported 11 patients from Almora and eight from Dehradun. Here one health care worker from All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Rishikesh was found positive on the day.
Similarly, seven patients were reported from Bageshwar, three from Rudraprayag and two each from Chamoli and Tehri districts. One patient each was found in Pauri, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi districts.
On the day, 34 patients were discharged from hospitals in Dehradun district while 31 were discharged in Almora district. In Udham Singh Nagar 13 patients got recovered from Covid-19 while five patients were discharged in Chamoli district.
In Champawat, three patients were discharged while two patients each were discharged from Pauri and Bageshwar districts.
The additional secretary, state health department, Yugal Kishore Pant said that reports of 911 samples were found negative for the disease on Saturday. He added that reports of 3772 samples are still awaited by the department.
On the day, a total of 1257 samples were collected for COVID -19 testing. The authorities have so far taken swab samples of 63960 suspected patients for COVID-19 test. Out of the total samples taken, 4.83 percent samples have been found positive for the disease. The doubling rate of disease in the state is now at 25.83 days while the recovery percent in the state is at 68.51 percent. A total of 20,72,337 people have so far downloaded the ‘Aarogya Setu App’ in the State.
The State now has 824 active patients of the disease. With a surge in cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, Nainital with a total of 148 active cases upstaged Dehradun and occupied the first position in the table of active patients. With 147 active patients Dehradun is now at second spot while with 127 active patients Haridwar is at third position. Udham Singh Nagar has 97 active patients while Tehri Garhwal now has 88 active cases of the disease. Pauri now has 74 active patients while Almora and Uttarkashi districts have 27 active cases each. Bageshwar and Rudraprayag now have 25 active patients each while Chamoli now has 19 active patients. Pithoragarh has 15 active cases and Champawat continues at the bottom of the table with five active cases.
The administration has declared 112 areas as containment zones to check the spread of infection in the state. Haridwar district has 69 containment zones while Dehradun district has 29 containment zones.
Tehri has 10 while Udham Singh Nagar district has three and Uttarkashi one containment zones.
