Sahaspur police led by the newly appointed circle officer from Lalkuan busted an alleged prostitution racket going on in a resort at Horawala in Dehradun late night and caught 14 girls allegedly involved in flesh trade. Five persons were arrested for allegedly running the prostitution racket. Sahaspur police station in-charge said that some objectionable items, including cannabis and liquor bottles from other states, had been recovered from the resort and a case had been registered. It is also learnt that members of anti-human trafficking unit, anti-narcotics task force and police personnel from some police stations were included in the team that raided the resort. However, the resort manager managed to escape. All the accused were later brought to the Sahaspur police station for further interrogation.
Locals and anti-human trafficking activists said that the resort had remained a centre of human trafficking and prostitution for a long time.
