60 new Covid-19 patients reported in U’khand

The state health department reported 60 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 46 recoveries from the disease in Uttarakhand on Wednesday. No death from the disease was reported in the state on the day.

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,41,934 while a total of 3,27,864 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state 7361 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.89 and the sample positivity rate on Wednesday was at 0.22 per cent in the state. The authorities collected 24,966 samples in different parts of the state on Wednesday.

The state health department reported 13 new patients of Covid -19 from Udham Singh Nagar, 10 from Dehradun, eight from Nainital, seven from Almora, six from Pithoragarh, five from Champawat, four from Haridwar, three from Uttarkashi, two from Rudraprayag and one each from Pauri and Tehri districts on Wednesday. No new cases of the disease were reported from Bageshwar and Chamoli districts on the day.

The state now has 672 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 263 patients while Udham Singh Nagar is in the second position with 68 active cases. Haridwar and Nainital have 53 each, Chamoli 34, Champawat 33, Rudraprayag 25, Uttarkashi 29, Almora 17, Pauri 13, Tehri 12 and Bageshwar 11 active cases each of the disease.

The state reported four new cases of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) on Wednesday. A total of 555 patients of Black Fungus have been reported till date in the state and out of them 124 have died. In the ongoing vaccination drive 33,882 people were vaccinated in 470 sessions held on Wednesday in different parts of the state.
