To mark the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, ‘Paryavaran Prahari Samman 2025’ ceremony was organised here on Saturday. The event-a joint initiative of Manthan Welfare Society, Kusum Kanta Foundation, SPECS, Him Foundation and Sunrise Academy-saw felicitation of 20 environmental guardians for their exemplary contributions in the field of environmental protection. Notably, this is the fifth consecutive year the award ceremony has been held.
Among those present were the Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’ and writer Tapas Chakraborty. The chairperson of Sunrise Academy and founder of Kusum Kanta Foundation, Vidushi Nishank addressed the programme.
A creative competition on the theme “Best from Waste” was organised in which students from Sunrise Academy and other schools presented innovative models promoting environmental awareness.
