5th Biotechnology Conclave: Bio E-3 policy explained

 The fifth Biotechnology Conclave being organised at Patwadangar near Nainital discussed ways to promote agriculture and animal husbandry in the mountains using scientific techniques. The scientists present said that if traditional mountain farming is practised using scientific methods, the people of the mountains would not have to migrate for employment. Entrepreneurs and farmers also shared their experiences and challenges with the scientists.

Among the dignitaries who attended the conclave were the director of National Dairy Research Institute, Dheer Singh; vice chancellor of GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Manmohan Singh Chauhan and director of Uttarakhand Council for Biotechnology, Sanjay Kumar. They explained Bio E-3 policy (biotechnology for economy, environment and employment) to the farmers and students present at the conclave.  Researchers and entrepreneurs showcased their biotechnology research while the agricultural scientists discussed in detail the challenges facing farmers and their solutions, offering solutions based on scientific techniques.
