50 O2 points prepared for Kedarnath pilgrims- Rawat

The State’s Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that 50 sites have been prepared en route to Kedarnath at a gap of 500 metres where oxygen cylinders will be kept and in case of breathing problems experienced by pilgrims, oxygen will be provided to them immediately. He said that the aged pilgrims will be sent to Kedarnath temple for Darshan only after medical check up. The State government is monitoring all aspects of the Yatra, he said. Instructions have been given to officers deputed on the Char Dham Yatra route to ensure that the pilgrims do not face any problems in accommodation, food and Darshan in the temples.The minister said this while presiding over a meeting to review works related to Dhari Devi temple, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and to address the different problems of Srinagar constituency here on Sunday. Rawat instructed officials concerned to remove illegal encroachments in Srinagar to ensure smooth traffic and prevent any inconvenience to the public and pilgrims. He also instructed the railway officials to expedite their work.He sought information about the number of houses which had developed cracks during the railway construction works and directed officials to ensure prompt action for payment of compensation. Rawat said that the Dhari Devi temple will be soon transferred to the temple committee. The incomplete work of NIT will be completed and planning is being made to construct a stadium in the old building of NIT in Srinagar to promote sports. Pauri district magistrate Vijay Kumar Jogdande and other officials concerned were also present in the meeting.
