50 new Covid cases, 33 recoveries in U’khand on Tuesday

The state health department reported 50 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 33 recoveries from the disease in Uttarakhand on Tuesday.  No death from the disease was reported on the day by the department.

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state has now increased to 3,41,536 while a total of 3,27,544 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state 7357 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.90 and the sample positivity rate is at 5.68 per cent in the state. The authorities collected 22,041 samples in different parts of the state on Tuesday.

The state health department reported nine new patients from Nainital, eight each from Champawat and Dehradun, seven each from Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar, five from Almora, two from Pauri, one each from Bageshwar, Chamoli, Pithoragarh and Uttarkashi on Tuesday. No new cases of Covid 19 were reported from Rudraprayag and Tehri districts on the day.

The state now has 620 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 251 patients while Haridwar in the second position with 68 active cases. Champawat has 48, Udham Singh Nagar 47, Pithoragarh 46, Nainital 39, Chamoli 32, Rudraprayag 27, Uttarkashi 18, Tehri 17, Almora 11, Pauri 10 and Bageshwar five active cases of the disease.

The state reported two new cases of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) and death of two patients from the disease on Tuesday. A total of 548 patients of Black Fungus have been reported till date in the state and out of them 119 have died. The ongoing vaccination drive gathered momentum on Tuesday as the health department vaccinated 87,964 people in 670 sessions held on the day. A total of 41,22,267 people have been partially vaccinated in the state while 12,36,463 beneficiaries have received both doses of the vaccine.
