With pedestrians and students remaining stranded in the waterlogged railway crossing area in Lalkuan town, a tehsil level IRT team rushed to the affected area and carried out relief and rescue operations. The team rescued five people, including a child, from the submerged area and sent them to the nearest health centre for treatment.
Locals said that waterlogging happened due to the absence of a proper drainage system.
