43 new Covid cases, two deaths reported in U’khand

The state health department reported 43 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and death of two patients from the disease in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. The department also reported 52 recoveries from the disease in the state on Tuesday.

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,41,874 while a total of 3,27,818 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state 7361 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.89 and the sample positivity rate on Tuesday was at 0.15 per cent in the state. The authorities collected 27,8923 samples in different parts of the state on Tuesday.

One patient each was reported dead at Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani and Military Hospital Pithoragarh on Tuesday.

The state health department reported 11 new patients of Covid 19 from Udham Singh Nagar, seven each from Dehradun and Rudraprayag, five from Almora, three each from Pithoragarh and Nainital, two from Bageshwar and one each from Chamoli and Tehri on Tuesday.  No new cases of the disease were reported from Champawat, Pauri and Uttarkashi districts on the day.

The state now has 659 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 263 patients while Pithoragarh is in the second position with 65 active cases. Haridwar has 62, Udham Singh Nagar 60, Chamoli 34, Rudraprayag 29, Champawat 28, Uttarkashi 17, Almora 13, Pauri 12 and Bageshwar and Tehri 11 active cases each of the disease.

The state reported no new case of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) on Tuesday. A total of 551 patients of Black Fungus have been reported till date in the state and out of them 124 have died. In the ongoing vaccination drive 40,946 people were vaccinated in 612 sessions held on Tuesday in different parts of the state.
