37 Amrita researchers among World’s Top 2% Scientists in Stanford’s rankings

Thirty-seven of faculty members of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham have featured in Stanford University’s 2025 list of the world’s top 2 per cent scientists, marking the sixth consecutive year that Amrita scholars have earned this recognition. The Stanford–Elsevier global database is considered one of the most respected measures of scientific achievement, the university sources said, adding that it recognises researchers based on rigorous metrics such as the H-index, citations, and composite indicators of impact.
Among those recognised, four are distinguished Amrita alumni — Maneesha Vinodini Ramesh, Raghu Raman, Prema Nedungadi and Rajesh Kannan Megalingam.
Speaking on this achievement, the vice- chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, P Venkat Rangan said, “Behind every number is a story of years of dedication, inquiry and perseverance.”
