3 dengue, 1 Covid-19 cases reported in Dehradun

The District Health department reported three new cases of dengue and one case of Covid-19 on Wednesday. The chief medical officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma informed that all three confirmed dengue cases had been reported at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. This raises the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 269 with 134 cases originating from Dehradun and 135 from other districts or States. 

Currently, there are 16 active dengue patients receiving treatment:13 at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and three at Himalayan Hospital.  

The Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and health department volunteers conducted 9,820 household surveys on Wednesday to check for mosquito larvae. During these surveys, 169 homes were found to have larvae. 

Further, Dr Sharma shared that one local case of Covid-19 had been confirmed on Wednesday, raising the cumulative total of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the district to 116 which includes 95 local residents and 21 migrants. 

There is currently one active Covid-19 case in Dehradun district. A total of six samples were tested for Covid-19 on Wednesday, contributing to a cumulative total of 1,313 samples tested. Dr Sharma also added that no deaths from Covid-19 have been reported in Dehradun district so far.
