The three-day children’s film festival organised at Bhartiya Shaheed Sainik Vidyalaya, Mallital concluded. On the concluding day of the programme, the children watched ‘Kanche Aur Postcards’, ‘Chanda Ke Joote’ and documentaries directed by Canadian filmmaker Norman McLaren. ‘Kanche Aur Postcards’ was based on the feelings of a child, Vipin, in which he wants to play marbles like other children, but his uncle insists that he should play volleyball and football instead. ‘Chanda aur Jooteen’ is about the story of a girl from an underprivileged community who does not like to wear shoes to school. The film seems to be doing an in-depth analysis of the current educational system.

The children watched two short films by the Canadian filmmaker, Norman McLaren, The Chairy Tale and The Neighbour. The Chairy Tale is a satire on how a chair throws tantrums to the person sitting on it while The Neighbour focuses on how one should have relations with neighbours.

Among the dignitaries present were the principal, Bishan Singh Mehta and the organiser of the film festival, Navendu Mathpal.
