23rd Territorial Police Swimming and Cross Country competition starts

The 23rd regional inter-district/battalion police swimming and cross-country competition, hosted by Nainital Police, was inaugurated on Wednesday by the Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat at the swimming pool at Manaskhand Sports Complex, International Stadium, Gaulapar. The competition will be held until October 10.
A total of 13 teams – Nainital, Almora, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Pauri, Udham Singh Nagar, 31st, 40th, 46th Battalion PAC, IRB–I , IRB-II, SDRF and GRP- are participating in the competition being organised under the supervision of SSP Nainital, Prahlad Narayan Meena.
Inaugurating the competition, Rawat said, “Sports are essential not only for physical but also for mental health. Fitness and discipline are of special importance in police service.” He added that the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched the ‘Mission Samvad’ app to improve the mental well-being of police personnel.
SSP Meena said that police duty demands fitness and team spirit. Seven events were held on the first day of the competition
