2 engineers suspended for negligence

PIONEER NEWS SERVICE/ Bageshwar
Two engineers of the Public Works Department (PWD) have been suspended for their negligence in clearing a roadblock caused by landslides triggered by the pre-monsoon rains. Taking the swift action, the district magistrate, Ashish Kumar Bhatgain made it clear that no slackness in work would be tolerated.
Notably, the Kapkot- Dharmagarh- Sanigad rural motor road had been closed due to landslides, causing long queues of vehicles stuck on both sides of the road. Despite being approached for help, the PWD had failed to deploy a loader machine to clear the road, resulting in the commuters’ continued ordeal on the road.
Taking immediate cognisance of the matter, the DM ordered an investigation. Based on the findings of the probe, a junior engineer and an assistant engineer were suspended.
