11 Covid deaths, 3,064 new cases in U’khand on Monday

The ongoing third wave of the pandemic of Covid-19 is showing signs of getting fatal. On Monday the state health department reported the death of 11 patients from the disease. The department also reported 3,064 new cases of the disease on the day.

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 4,03,465 while a total of 3,56,331  patients have recovered from the disease so far. A total of 7,491 people have died in the state so far from Covid-19. The recovery percentage of the disease further dropped to 88.32 per cent on Monday. The positivity rate of the disease was at 11.76 per cent on Monday.  

The authorities reported the death of five patients from Covid-19 at Mahant Indiresh Hospital Dehradun on Monday while two patients died at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh.  One patient each was reported dead at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun, Synergy hospital, Sushila Tiwari government hospital and HNB Base hospital Srinagar on Monday.

The health department reported 870 new patients from Dehradun, 529 from Udham Singh Nagar, 485 from Haridwar, 306 from Pauri, 243 from Nainital, 169 from Chamoli, 148 from Almora, 99 from Uttarkashi, 67 from Bageshwar, 58 from Tehri, 37 from Pithoragarh, 28 from Champawat and 25 from Rudraprayag on Monday.

The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 31,280. Dehradun with 12,900 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Haridwar has 4,152 active cases of the disease which is followed by Nainital district with 3,702 active cases. Uttarkashi is at the bottom of the table with 309 active cases of the disease. 

 In the ongoing vaccination drive 26,044 people were vaccinated in 1094 sessions in the state held on Monday.
