108 ambulance personnel given training in trauma care

The personnel of the 108 emergency ambulance service were given training in trauma care on Friday. The training was organised on the orders of the Mission Director, National Health Mission Uttarakhand in view of the ongoing Char Dham Yatra and the upcoming monsoon season in the State.

In the programme the ambulance service personnel were trained in different emergency situations including the accident cases. The training was conducted by Chief Trainer and senior orthopaedic specialist Dr Prasun Maheshwari, co-trainer Dr Prashant Chaudhary (emergency medical officer) and Yashpal Singh. 

Dr Maheshwari informed about various accident related injuries and their first aid so that treatment can be ensured more efficiently and people can get better health services. Dr Prashant Chaudhary provided information about various types of emergency situations in the training. Yashpal Singh provided information about the precautions to be taken during an accident and safe transportation of an accident victim.

The general manager- projects of the ambulance service, Anil Sharma said that to improve the quality of service, the organization organises training sessions for its personnel from time to time. “Today’s training was also very beneficial in which the personnel also asked questions and answered about various types of emergency situations and accidents,’’ he said.

EMTs of all districts attended the training programme in a virtual mode.
