Amit Shah’s Doon rally: BJP to start poll campaign

The Union Home and Cooperatives minister Amit Shah is scheduled to arrive in Dehradun on October 30 to launch the Mukhyamantri Ghasyari Kalyan Yojana (MGKY). A mega rally is slated to be addressed by Shah at the Bannu School ground in Race Course area of Dehradun on the occasion. According to the party leaders, this rally of the Union minister will mark the start of the BJP’s poll campaign in the state. A large number of party workers and members of the general public are expected to attend this gathering.

On Wednesday, the party leaders held a meeting at the BJP state office here to finalise details of the preparation for the event. The BJP State general secretary Kuldeep Kumar informed the party workers in detail about Shah’s proposed Uttarakhand visit while allocating different tasks pertaining to the event to the party workers. He further said that meetings should be held in 100 municipal wards and 12 cantonment wards of Dehradun to motivate people to attend Shah’s rally. Cabinet minister Banshidhar Bhagat, Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ and the BJP’s Mahanagar head Seetaram Bhatt were also present in the meeting.

Meanwhile, the BJP state president Madan Kaushik and cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat also inspected the venue of Shah’s rally.
