The State Health minister, Dhan Singh Rawat said that the government is taking all required steps to make the district hospitals, sub-district hospitals and medical colleges complete medical service providers through strengthening the health system.  “For this, the departmental officers have been instructed to prepare a blueprint for strengthening the hospitals,” he added.

He further said that they were facilitating a system to make sure that 100 per cent patients get complete treatment locally which would curb the referral system.   “Patients should be referred to higher centres only in special circumstances,” he said and added that the officials concerned have been instructed to make alternative arrangements in case doctors are on leave.

In the meeting, Rawat also directed the officers to firm up attractive service conditions to fulfil the requirement of the super specialist doctors. He also stressed on making further improvements in supporting staff, advanced skill lab and trauma centre.
