He said that the police have already recovered a total of 252 mobile phones worth over Rs 43 lakh since January this year by coordinating with the police of several states.

The police returned phones to several people on Wednesday too. Singh said that mobile phones are the most important gadget for many people in modern times and he is happy Haridwar police have been working efficiently to recover them to return to their respective owners.  He also appealed to the people to always report their stolen or lost mobile phones to the police immediately as it increases the chances of their faster recovery.

He also appealed to the public to not buy any mobile phone from any unknown person without its valid bill and without any legal ID only because of the mobile’s low price. He said that stolen phones can also be used for carrying out several illegal activities and one should never buy or sell such phones without valid documents. If one finds any abandoned mobile phone, they should deposit it in the police station if the finder fails to locate the owner, added the SSP.
