Yog Nagari Rishikesh to be developed into model railway station
The Yog Nagari Rishikesh railway station- the starting point of the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line will be developed into a model railway station. Stating this, the Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj said that anyone arriving here to tour Uttarakhand should be able to get all relevant information about the state on arrival at this railway station. The minister said this while visiting the railway station along with Tourism secretary Dilip Jawalkar and other officials concerned.
The minister said that arrangements should be made to ensure that on arrival at this railway station, a tourist gets to know all relevant information including the state’s delicacies and sweets before starting the tour of the state. He said that the Tourism department is committed to enhance this newly constructed railway station from the tourism point of view. The attempt is to provide information about the Char Dham, all religious and tourist destinations along with circuits at the railway station so that the tourists can depart towards their destination as per their convenience. Inspecting the railway station, he directed officials to facilitate large paintings depicting aspects including birdwatching, trekking, adventure tourism and the state’s food at the station. The station will be developed further from the tourism point of view, added the minister. The Rail Vikas Nigam Limited project director Himanshu Badoni, divisional rail manager NN Singh and other officials were also present during the minister’s visit to the railway station.
