On the concluding day of the two-day-long workshop on ‘how to swiftly and effectively crack cases related to land fraud cases, bank fraud cases and investigation on section 420 of IPC’ for investigating officers, Garhwal Range DIG Pushpak Jyoti said that cases related to land frauds involving land mafia are being reported at Special Investigation Team (SIT) on daily basis since it was formed at Garhwal Range.
It has been observed that with the manifold increase in the price of land, cases related to land fraud are also on the rise. Government lands were also being sold and purchased by the private persons and such complaints were also reported at SIT.
During workshop session, what are the methods used by the police stations of other states were also discussed and investigating officers were educated on several aspects to be looked into in land fraud cases and what are documents need to be collected and other precautions to be taken to give maximum punishment to the persons involved in land frauds were taught. They were also trained on how to collect important documents related to land fraud cases during workshop.
He said that the two- day workshop which was organised for the investigating officers would help them cracking such cases swiftly. The investigating officers have been directed to consult SIT, Garhwal Range investigating officers if they face any problems while investigating the land fraud case, he added. He said that after receiving complaints from complainants at SIT, those persons were found in their role fraudulently in the sell and purchase of lands was put behind the bars after investigating officers conducted thorough investigating. During workshop, tehsildars, revenue department officials, advocates were invited to give their lecture over the land fraud case issue. Training on the precautions to be taken while dealing with cyber crime, land fraud, bank fraud cases and the details of section 420 of IPC were also educated to the investigation officers in course of the workshop, adding that the workshop would go a long way in checking and cracking such crimes in the coming days.
