Speaker reviews security & other arrangements

Three day session commencing from Dec 21

The speaker Premchand Agarwal chaired a meeting of senior officers of government at his office at Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday and discussed the security and other arrangements for the upcoming winter session of the assembly. In the meeting the speaker directed the officers of the assembly secretariat and the police to ensure foolproof security arrangements during the session. He also directed that the other arrangements for the smooth conduct of the house should also be made. The speaker held detailed discussions on the arrangements made in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic for the session. Later talking to the media persons, Agarwal said that all the MLAs would have to compulsorily get the RTPCR or rapid test of Covid-19 done and produce a negative report before entering the house. The arrangements for the test would be made at MLA hostel. He said that arrangements for thermal scanning and sanitization would be made at the assembly entrance. The speaker added that in view of pandemic, media persons and guests would not be allowed entry into Vidhan Sabha. He said that former MLAs have been requested not to come to Vidhan Sabha during session and no MLA would be allowed to admit any assistant inside the assembly building.
Additional chief secretary Radha Raturi, IG Police A P Anshuman, Secretary health P K Pandey, secretary ITDA Amit Sinha, B S Manral, district magistrate of Dehradun Ashish Srivastava, DG Information M S Bisht, Vidhan Sabha secretary (officiating) Mukesh Singhal and others were present on the occasion.
