USDMA undertakes campaign to ensure correct information related to Covid-19
Even as various efforts are underway to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic effectively, the authorities are also addressing problems caused by lack of proper information, incorrect information and rumours. The Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA) is undertaking a campaign using posters, pamphlets and the social media to ensure that the people are aware of correct information during the current scenario. Though many people are observing precautions, some tend to become complacent towards observing such important measures.
According to the USDMA additional CEO Ridhim Agarwal, people- especially in quarantine centres, should make it a habit to frequently wash hands with soap, make wearing of mask a part of their life and observe social distancing- maintaining more than one metre distance from others. Various dos and don’ts are being publicised by the USDMA for those in quarantine centres. People should not become afraid while in quarantine centres. They should observe basic precautions and hygiene and not let their friends or family members come to meet them in quarantine centres. People should not believe in rumours related to Covid-19 and not encourage wrong messages related to Covid-19 on social media, said Agarwal.
