The PCC president Pritam Singh to undertake an extensive tour of Garhwal region of the state

Buoyed by the response of the Dharna it organised at all district and block headquarters on Saturday, the Uttarakhand Congress has decided to take up the issue of unemployment on a larger scale.

The party has declared that it would start a state-wide campaign against unemployment. Informing about the plan of the party, the Vice President of Uttarakhand Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana told the media-persons at Rajiv Bhawan on Sunday that the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh would soon start an extensive tour of Garhwal region of the state. During his visit the PCC president would interact with the youth and unemployed on the issue of unemployment. Dhasmana said that the Dharna by the Congress party on Saturday elicited a hope among the unemployed and youth of the state. He claimed that the unemployed believe that only Congress party can wage a war against unemployment and can provide employment when in power. He said that the youth got jobs and self employment opportunities whenever the Congress party was in power in the state.

The Congress leader added that the party would raise the issue of unemployment forcefully during the upcoming monsoon session of Uttarakhand Congress. He said that apart from unemployment, the Congress legislatures would corner the state government on the issues of plight of farmers, mismanagement in tackling the pandemic of Covid-19, price rise and Devsthanam board.
