Thukral statement on minorities- Congress demands punitive action
The statements of BJP leaders, a ploy to divert attention from real issues- Cong Vice President Dhasmana
The controversial utterances of the BJP MLA from Rudrapur, Rajkumar Thukral made ostensibly against the members of the minority community have given the opposition Congress party an ammunition to attack the BJP government of the state. Taking cognizance of a video of the Rudrapur MLA, Rajkumar Thukral in which he is allegedly seen talking to a group of people that he never visits or does work of any Muslim, the Vice President of the Uttarakhand Congress party, Surya Kant Dhasmana said that a case for disturbing communal harmony should be filed against the MLA. Speaking to the media persons at Rajiv Bhawan, the headquarter of state unit of Congress party, Dhasmana said that after Jawalapur MLA, Suresh Rathore, the Rudrapur MLA has now spewed venom on the minority community. He said that the statements of these MLAs are part of a well planned strategy as the BJP government has nothing which can be termed as its achievement of last two and half year’s rule. “This is ploy to divert the attention of people from real issues. The government has done nothing which it can showcase as its achievement in last two and half years.’’ He said.
Continuing his diatribe on the BJP government of the state, the senior Congress leader said that the slogan ‘ Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ of BJP is nothing but a sham and said that if the party has any respect left for this slogan than it should take action against its MLAs for creating communal divide in the society. He added that cases of sedition should be slapped on these leaders. Dhasmana said that after release of reports of NITI Aayog on health and education sector which presented dismal picture of Uttarakhand, the BJP leaders are not in position to give any reply so they retorted to communal politics.
