The toll from swine flu has continued to rise with two deaths being reported and 13 new cases being found to be positive for the H1N1 virus in Dehradun on Monday. According to information provided by official sources, two persons, suffering from swine flu, died in the Sri Mahant Indiresh hospital on Monday while 13 persons tested positive for the same ailment. As on Monday, a total of 23 deaths have been reported so far from swine flu this season.
Further, a total of 149 persons have been found to be positive.Those who have tested positive for swine flu include 106 patients at Sri Mahant Indiresh hospital, 21 in Max hospital, eight in Government Doon medical college hospital, eight in Synergy hospital, four in Kailash hospital and one each in Himalayan Institute hospital, Jolly Grant and the military hospital.
According to the departmental officials, all the medical professionals have been directed to keep track of the suspected cases of the ailment and notify the district health department about each of the same. All the hospitals have adequate stocks of the required medicines. Further, the management of the hospitals have also been asked to set up isolation wards to treat swine flu patients, said officials.
