Strictest action needed against man responsible for Pauri burn victim’s death- Hridayesh
Opposition has no objection to probe into Gairsain development works
Expressing deep grief at the demise of the Pauri burn victim, leader of opposition in the Vidhan Sabha and Haldwani MLA, Indira Hridayesh stressed that the strictest action should be taken against the man guilty of such a heinous crime.
Talking to media persons here on Monday, Hridayesh said that such incidents have no place in a civilised society. Stern laws should be made in order to prevent such crimes. Further, there is also the need for counselling the youth so that they comprehend the actual repercussions of such incidents. Both the Centre and State should enact strict laws to tackle with such crimes and cases pertaining to the same should be tried in fast-track court, she said.
On the state government stating that developmental works undertaken in Gairsain during the term of the previous Congress-led State government would be probed into, she said that the government was welcome to investigate the works. However, the State Government should also be careful that in the name of the probe the construction works there should not be stalled. She stressed that the opposition has no objection to the probe but said that like the probe in to the national highway 74 scam has not been completed yet, the government should not stall developmental works in Gairsain by constituting such a probe.
