The main priorities and various achievements of the State Government were listed in the address of the Governor Baby Rani Maurya in the Assembly on Monday. In the Governor’s address, information was provided on the top priorities and steps taken by the State Government to facilitate the desired level of development in Uttarakhand during its term in office so far.
The address comprised details of steps taken and planned to meet the interests of various sections of society.
It was stated in the address that for the benefit of the public, the State Government had provided various types of facilities online oneregistration.uk.gov.in. For the planned development of the State, vision 2030 had been drafted. An online portal has been prepared for paperless information on financial and physical figures from departments for regular review.
The Uttarakhand State Centre for Public Policy and Good Governance was also formed for making planning and policy making more effective and practical.
Further, it was stated in the address that considering the important role of industrial sector in the development of the State various measures had been taken by the Government. The investors’ summit was held last year in which MoUs worth Rs 1,24,000 crore were signed. A single window system had also been put in place for simplifying investment in the State while amendments were made in legal provisions for ease of doing business and attracting investors to the mountainous regions of the State. The State’s effective implementation of various Central Government schemes including, Digital India, was also mentioned. It was stated that the State Government is committed to ensuring to maintain a system with public participation that also ensures control on crime, peace, law and order while also facilitating the safety of tourists and maintaining a secure environment in the State.
Considering the vulnerability of the State to disasters, details were provided of various measures undertaken to strengthen the disaster management system and mitigate disasters of various types.
It was also stated that various measures had been taken by the State Government for improving the health facilities available in the State. Expansion and improvement of Government health facilities and introduction of schemes like the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana and tele-medicine were also listed in the address.
Further, the range of measures taken for eradication of poverty in a planned manner were also referred to. Various measures taken for development in spheres including agriculture, education, tourism, infrastructure, sports and employment generation through skill development among others were also mentioned in the Governor’s address.
Additionally, the measures taken for the welfare of ex-servicemen and dependents of martyrs along with steps taken with the aim of doubling the income of farmers were also referred to.
The 43-page address of the Governor provided brief description of works undertaken by the State Government so far along with its priorities for the coming financial year. It was stressed that the priority of the State Government is to facilitate decentralised development and pursuing the vision of sabka saath sabka vikas to bring Uttarakhand in the category of developed States.
