Statements on Sonia & Rahul; effigy of Ramdev torched
Agitated workers of Congress party burned the effigy of Baba Ramdev in protest against his comment on Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Ramdev in a recent statement had said that the Congress president and her son would be in jail like former finance minister, P Chidambram. On the day, large number of Congress party workers assembled at Rajiv Bhawan, the state headquarters of Congress party and marched to the Astley Hall under the leadership of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh. Addressing the workers, Singh said that Ramdev on the direction given by the union and state governments is making such statements to gain cheap popularity. He said that the Congress workers would not tolerate such statements and Ramdev should apologise for such denigrating statements on Sonia and Rahul.
The PCC president said that the Baba Ramdev is among the top businessmen of the country and he should explain from where and how he has earned the fortune. He should first give details of the money earned by him. Pritam Singh added that if Baba Ramdev is so much interested in politics than he should come out only into politics. He said that Ramdev is acting like a spokesperson of BJP which is not proper for a person donning attire of a saint.
Former MLA, Rajkumar, President of Mahanagar Congress Lal Chand Sharma, state spokesperson Garima Dasauni and others were present on the occasion.
