State focusing on effective implementation of welfare schemes: CM
The State Government is focusing on effective implementation of the schemes initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the benefit of the general public. Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said this while attending a video conference of Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda with chief ministers of states governed by the BJP.
Rawat informed Nadda that the execution of schemes is being regularly reviewed in the state. He said that there are 25,000 street vendors and attempt is being made to include all of them in the loan scheme introduced for them. A meeting with be held with bank officials soon regarding this. All the district magistrates have already been directed to coordinate with the lead bank for facilitating loans to the eligible citizens. This scheme will facilitate an easy loan of Rs 10,000 per person which will help them to start their own business. The CM further informed that the Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana (MSY) has been started especially for the three lakh plus natives who have returned to Uttarakhand recently. About 10,000 youth are being allocated 25 kilowatt solar power schemes under the CM solar self employment scheme which will bring them an income of Rs 15,000 per month. Rawat said that the State government has provided 1,000 hectare land in Udham Singh Nagar for the Amritsar-Kolkata corridor. Further, all necessary arrangements have been made to enable upgradation of the Dehradun airport to an international level airport. Similarly, 1,100 acre land has been selected at Pantnagar for development of greenfield airport.
Earlier, the BJP national president said that decisions taken by PM Modi from time to time had helped control the menace of the Covid pandemic in the nation. The lockdown period helped in bringing about considerable improvement in the health services in the country. He exhorted the CMs to effectively implement the schemes introduced for improving the lot of poor traders while also focusing on economic reforms. Referring to the loan scheme for street vendors in rural and urban areas, Nadda said that those who receive Rs 10,000 loan under the scheme are provided seven per cent annual interest subsidy on timely repayment. About 50 lakh people are to be provided the benefit of this scheme, he said, while exhorting the CMs to include as many beneficiaries under the scheme as possible. He also asked them to focus on the relaxations provided in the MSME sector and maximise the number of people benefitting from the same. He also spoke of implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.
