Soil testing laboratory starts at Bahadrabad under PPP mode
MP reviews the development of Adarsh Grams
Chairing a review meeting on Friday, the Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ discussed the development of the soil testing laboratory established at Govardhanpur village. Notably, on the public-private partnership mode, a soil testing laboratory has come up in the model village Govardhanpur with an estimated cost of Rs 5lakh. With the establishment of the laboratory, the local farmers would no longer be forced to go to Bahadrabad to get their soil samples tested.
In course of the meeting, Nishank reviewed the progress of the three villages adopted under Adarsh Gram Yojna from the officers of the Zila Panchayat. He directed them to build the three villages as models for the country.
He also discussed matters pertaining to education, health and fishery departments besides the district industry center.
The District Education Officer (basic education) S D Sharma said that the number of teachers and students in the schools located in the model villages was good. He also drew the MP’s attention to the paucity of teachers plaguing several other Government schools running in the district. Further, he demanded the development of infrastructure in the schools running under the basic education department.
A former member of the Mandi Samiti Sanjay Chopra during the meeting placed a proposal of implementing e-Krishi market scheme rolled out by the Centre in the district and pressed the department to pay more attention the mandi samitis run for the benefit of the farmers. With the implementation of the e-Krishi scheme, the farmers would get more benefits than what they are getting now, said Chopra. Read more posts…
