Six deaths, 535 fresh Covid-19 cases in U’khand
Tally mounts to 16,549, death toll 219 so far
The tally of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) surged to 16549 in Uttarakhand as 535 fresh cases of the disease were reported on Wednesday. Six patients of the disease were reported dead by the department on the day. The disease has so far claimed 219 lives in the state.
The health department discharged 323 patients on Wednesday after their recovery from the disease. A total of 11524 patients have so far recovered from the disease which put the recovery percentage at 69.64 percent. The doubling rate in the state is 24.45 days and the infection rate is 5.29 percent. In different labs of the state a total of 14882 samples are remaining untested.
On Wednesday four patients were reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh. Here a 62 year old female, two 47 year old females and a 52 year old male expired. Similarly a 66 year old male and a 59 year old male were reported dead at Sushila Tiwari Government hospital Haldwani.
The authorities reported 170 cases of the disease in provisional state capital Dehradun on Wednesday while 81 and 80 cases were reported from Nainital and Haridwar respectively. In Udham Singh Nagar 64 patients were found while 36 patients were reported in Tehri. The authorities found 25 patients in Pauri, 22 in Chamoli, 20 in Champawat, 15 in Uttarkashi, 13 in Bageshwar, seven in Pithoragarh and two in Rudraprayag district on the day.
The health department discharged 84 patients in Haridwar, 79 in Dehradun, 75 in Nainital, 30 in Udham Singh Nagar, 26 in Rudraprayag, 20 in Uttarkashi, three in Chamoli and two each in Pauri and Tehri districts on Wednesday.
The state now has 4749 active patients of the disease with Udham Singh Nagar at top position in the table of active patients with 1273 patients. Haridwar is at second spot with 1101 active cases while Dehradun is in third position with 914 active cases. Nainital has 662 active patients of Covid-19 while Tehri has 187; Uttarkashi 179, Pauri 121 Champawat 83, Chamoli 79, Rudraprayag 41, Almora 37 and Pithoragarh 24 active patients of the disease.
