In a major relief to the general public, the agitating Uttaranchal Roadways Karmchari Union (URKU) has decided to suspend its proposed strike from Tuesday after an assurance from management of the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC).
Before the decision of suspension of the strike by the URKU, hectic parleys were held between the office bearers of the association and the transport corporation management. The general manager operations of the UTC, Deepak Jain told the association that since the Managing Director (MD) of the corporation has been transferred recently and new MD has not taken up the charge yet, the employees should take back their call.
He added that since the secretary transport is also on leave, the proposed high level meeting to resolve the issues of the employees has not been called. Jain however assured that the said meeting would be held on or before July 4.
